Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Receive refused freight and properly secure, store, and disperse items as necessary.

  • Follow designated procedure for processing unidentified OS&D Cargo, which includes storage and security of freight. Communicate with appropriate personnel when noncompliance exists.
  • Disperse freight by following proper procedures via shipper when necessary by completing bill of lading and contacting designated carrier for pick-ups.
  • Rework loads as necessary after shipper signs Rework Authorization Form (RWA) and is received. This includes inspecting and taking pictures to provide documented proof of responsibility. May be required to determine cost associated with rework. When load is damaged, determine if driver error or shipper error resulted in load shift.
  • Ensure records for all OS&D freight are maintained and tracked when necessary.
  • Assist with yard leadership at the terminal level.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Other Duties:
  • May be responsible for the sale of the OS&D products to employees at designated location.
  • May cover dispatch window and assist with terminal security when needed.
  • May assist with the transportation of drivers to and from the hotel as needed.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

  • One year of transportation experience preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Report generation
  • Mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret user needs and translate into system requirements.
  • Ability to understand system data and to identify discrepancies
  • Previous knowledge of system analytics helpful
  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
